Life changes

These past two weeks have been an adventure. I moved to Lynchburg, away from my family, my lovely home out in the country and everything I have ever known. The first week was difficult with being completely on my own.I must have thought that once I am on my own everything will be better and easy; the first day on my own I found that out the hard way. It is definitely an adjustment especially since I was used to living with six girls at school. I love living by myself, but it does get lonely especially since I do not know many people here. My apartment is lovely, it is definitely a work in progress. We did paint the living room classic taupe which has made the place a little more homey. I still need to get slip covers which will bring everything together. I have finally got my kitchen together for the most part, I am sure I will come up with things I need, but right know I think I am set. Chris got me the Paula Dean Pots and Pans in Green, I love them! I actually enjoy cooking now. Speaking of cooking, I have been experimenting and making some yummy dishes. If you know me well, you know that I am not a big fan of cooking, but I guess this part of me is changing too. I made some sun-dried tomato mayo, rattitouli, spagetti, sauted squash & zuccini with couscous and roasted potatoes.

Last night I rearranged my second bedroom which I am extremely happy about. I think it looks more cozy now. The bathrooms still need some work. I am currently using shower liners in place of a curtain, but eventually I will get one. My bedroom is cute, but needs some work. I am thinking about painting it green and I might rearrange it as well. It needs a little something, but I cannot decide what.

Although I do get lonely from time to time, I am very thankful to have my humble abode.
I started work on Monday, just orientation though. My first real day is next Thursday. I am working rotating shifts in the CVRU (Cardiovascular Recovery Unit aka Open Heart ICU). It is a little intimating because these are some sickly patients, but I will learn a ton! I take my NCLEX (boards) on July 13th, please keep me in your prayers. I should be studying right now instead of bloggin', but a little break is necessary. I am nervous about passing, but everything will turn out how it is suppose to.

Chris is doing well, just working working working all of the time! We haven't gotten very far with wedding plans, but once I pass the boards I will focus more of my time on planning. No date yet, but we are thinking May 31st or in June. I have been looking at venues in Bristol and saving pictures that I like, things will come together eventually.

Updates

So life has been busy busy busy since the last time I posted. Got engaged to my soulmate for which I couldn't be happier, finished up school, went cruisin' to the Bahamas with my roomates, graduated from UVa, and recently got back from Mexico with the family. Life has definitely been a whirlwind, now I am preparing to move to Lynchburg and begin my nursing career. All of these changes are exciting and a lot to take in. I am most looking forward to living in the same town as Chris, finally! Once I get all moved in I will go into wedding planning mode.
I don't think it has hit me yet that I am finally finished with school. Many people are sad when they graduate, but for me I am ready to get out and experience more of the world.

Well..off to prepare for another graduation get together...excited about seeing my maid-of-honor, lil Laura!

The Future Mrs. Wilson

So.. it is official.. I am the future Mrs. Wilson! Chris came into town today and we went to our favorite lunch place, Greenwood, in Crozet, then ventured to Wintergreen. We headed up to the resort and drove around to the various outlooks, then landed at the one with the best view, which really wasnt a outlook... more like a cliff with the backdrop of the lovely blue ridge mountains. We both love the mountains and enjoy hanging out on rocks overlooking God's beautiful creation . After taking a few pictures, Chris went to the Jeep and grabbed a blanket and cooler. We had a yummy picnic of grapes, cheese, and crackers, after taking some more pics, Chris got down on one knee and PROPOSED! It was amazing, exactly how I would ever want a proposal to go! I am still in shock. I cannot believe we are getting married, I mean I had no doubt, but I am so excited that it is almost here!

My First Place

I reckon I can procrastinate a little longer, it has been a pretty productive day. After church, I cleaned my house and the Lord knows it needed it..bad and I got some school work done.

I am definitely looking forward to living by myself in 2 months, which is the most recent news for me. I have been busily looking at apartments and trying to figure out what is most important in my future abode. I am willing to spend a little bit of extra money on a nice place, I feel like I deserve it. I have lived in some rough places the past few years and this will be my first place, all by myself! It is pretty excited, I just pray that God will direct me where He wants me to be.

Yesterday Chris came into town and we went to some antique stores to get an idea of what I want in my apt. I am thinking the theme will be shabby chic, cozy, and warm.

Wall colors: tan-living room; green-my room; possible blue for the guest bedroom. I am not sure about the bathrooms yet. That will just come later.

So Chris and my mom are saying that I should have a futon and my computer desk in my guest bedroom but I would prefer another bed and my desk, we all know that beds are more comfy than futons. But they say it is most practical the other way. So we will see what happens with the second bedroom. If you have any advice about decorating ideas I would love to hear them, I recently fell in love with the Better Homes and Gardens Flea Market Addition! It has some awesome ideas. I also love Real Simple.

Tuesday, I leave for NASHVILLE! I am going for a nursing convention, but really to go exploring with my dear friend, Melissa. Tuesday night we are going to the Grand Ole Opry to see Taylor Swift and Trace Adkins, I am sooo excited because I have always wanted to go to the GOO. The rest of the time we will be making our ways through the ins and outs of the city!

Count down

Graduation: 5 weeks, 35 days.

Moving to Lynchburg: 9 weeks, 63 days.

updates.

Monday I got a job offer in Lynchburg which I am super excited about. I am so happy that Chris and I will finally be in the same town for once. I cannot even fathom the thought that I will be able to see him everyday. Also, I have formed some wonderful friendships in Lynchburg, so I am glad to be able to continue to develop them. I love Brentwood and I cannot wait to be able to attend regularly.

In less than 6 weeks I graduate! That is crazy, I cannot believe it is almost here. It is about time.
It is also crazy that Shelbi is married. This weekend I went to Chris's sister's wedding which was gorgeous. I had a fun time getting to know the Wilson's friends and family, crazy that one day I will be in her shoes.

I started Practicum Thursday and am excited to work with my preceptor, I know I will learn a lot probably become good friends with Lisa. I am on the cardiac floor, which is convenient since that is where I will be working in 3 months.

I am looking forward to seeing where God has me living in 3 months. Whether it is with my love, Jen, or by myself. Either way I know it will be wonderful. I am just looking forward to being in Lynchburg.

Its been awhile

Where to begin...
it has been awhile since I have blogged and a lot has happened.

Most recently..I did not get an offer for a job that I thought I wanted badly. I know that every thing happens for a reason, but sometimes it is hard to understand the reason. I am continually relying on God's plan and his will for my life and obviously this not where I should be right away, I find hope in that because I know He has a better plan than I could imagine. I have another interview this coming week so we will see what happen.

About two weeks ago I left for the Galapagos Islands. There was much that occurred but due to space and time I will just share my favorite moments.
Tortuga Bay-white sand, clear water, and mountains (first place we went in the gala)
Cafe Hernan-yummy cappuccinos and banana splits
Jugo (juice)-we had fresh homeade juice everyday-it was such a treat
Cliff jumping-exhilarating experience, something I never thought I would do
Snorkeling with sea lions-exciting and breath taking
Visiting Floriana-seeing huge tortises and drinking fresh spring water
The views-Quito, Gala, Floriana
The cathedral in Quito-the views, stained glass, arcitecture, the people, cafe-delightfully cheap, scrumpious brunch
The park of vendors-relaxing and beautiful

So I came back to the states with not a lot on my mind but a lot on my plate. Finishing up classes has been a challenge esp with little sleep, but I had a chance to come home even though most of my time was spent working...it is nice to be here.

I do miss my boyfriend, Chris, mucho grande..it has been way to long. It is such a drag to go even a few days without seeing each other much less three weeks and not being able to fully communicate for a week, but the Lord helps us perservere and strength us. I also miss my friends...thankfully I got to see my bestie, Laura, twice while I was home, but I am excited about seeing Jen hopefully in a few days!
